Company discusses synergy of the long-standing partnership, drive towards reduced Carbon Emissions by incorporating Variable Speed Technology in Large Centrifugal Chillers.

December XX, 2021, Dubai--An official delegation from Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI), the global leader for smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, recently paid a visit to the Abu Dhabi headquarters of the National Central Cooling Company (Tabreed), a leading international district cooling developer providing energy efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly year-round cooling solutions in the GCC, India, and beyond.

 

During the visit, JCI officials expressed their appreciation for the enduring partnership between the two organizations. Both parties agreed to collaborate on a training aimed at helping develop the skills and talents of fresh graduates from the region as well as take part in a special technical workshop in January next year, which will concentrate on key topics like next generation refrigerants, magnetic bearing chillers and absorption technology.

 

The recently concluded retrofit of medium-voltage variable speed drives on chillers has proven to provide more than committed energy savings. JCI will conduct detailed measurement and verification works to allow for publishing a detailed technical paper on the same.

 

The JCI delegation included Tomas Brannemo, Vice President and President, Building Solutions Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America (EMEALA); Rolando Furlong, Vice President and General Manager, Building Solutions Middle East and Africa (MEA); and Nermeen Hammouda, General Manager for Applied and ESCO GCC. Meanwhile, they were met by officials from Tabreed led by Khalid Abdullah Al Marzooqi, Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Francois Chartrain, Chief Operating Officer and Atef Mohamed Awadh Al Breiki, Senior Vice President for Operations.
