Rafael Bobis - Senior Communications Specialist
I started my career in Johnson Controls (JCI) which is a fortune 500 company in 2011, as the lead for multimedia in the region. At a later stage my role was extended to take on digital marketing for lead generation.
From the moment I started working in the company I felt proud, Johnson Controls' focus given to innovation and sustainability is unparalleled. The company is a pioneer and leader in innovation which is its core foundation. A simple example of this is when Warren Johnson invented the first electric room thermostat in 1885, following a long lists of patent invented technologies, fast forward to the OpenBlue Technology.

What are the 3 best things about working for JCI?
- My first one is how the company wins with the highest standards of ethics as Integrity which is the basis of Johnson Controls’ sustainable business.
- Second is how Johnson Controls pushes the boundaries in innovation whether it’s for people, places, structures, or for the good and benefit of the entire planet. The company makes sure to deliver that innovative idea into the forefront which becomes a model for other companies to follow.
- The third is how a fully diversified company working smartly, seamlessly, and collaborating as One Team. Unifying 45+ different nationalities in just the MEA region with such unique cultures and backgrounds working to win together in harmony is one of a kind.
Can you please describe how JCI is supporting your personal & career growth?
No matter what career path you envisioned for your future, Johnson Controls is a great place to accelerate both personal and career growth with its vast selection of award-winning training tools which helps me a lot at the same time how the leaders from the region and at a global level empower employees like me to believe and push the limits to become a key decision-maker in challenging tasks from small to enterprise level projects to finally succeed and eventually making the entire business wins.
What do you like the most about JCI culture and values? And how do you relate yourself to them?
Johnson Controls has a high-performance culture where everyone is equally treated and its commitment to make the world a better place is what is a value that every employee has imbibed. We endeavor to do our best professionally and personally in an ethical manner while supporting our customers and communities at large.
