What are the 3 best things about working for Johnson Controls?
- I have been working in the company for seven years now. I worked from 2009-2013 for four years in Johnson Controls and then took a career break for two years to have my son. Following which I worked in another organization for two years and returned to Johnson Controls in 2018. The time I spent outside the company made me realize what a great company it is. Firstly, the company has an amazing culture of embracing people. The diversity; people from different nationalities, speaking different languages, from different ethnicity, colour, race all work together in harmony. Each one is respected and heard no matter how small or big their role in the organization is. It’s definitely a place where you can feel part of a TEAM.
- Johnson Controls invests in its people. There is always encouragement to enhance the skills of employees. I was astonished by BRGs like Synergy where you are being coached by international leaders! You get to interact with employees all across the world and learn from them. With its numerous business verticals, you can be a champion in controls, expert in Fire and Security and a master in HVAC. It’s up to you how far you want to go!
- Another thing which I am proud to be part of is the social and environmental responsibility of Johnson Controls. Can you please describe how Johnson Controls is supporting your personal & career growth?
I joined in 2009 August as project development engineer in Controls. I was given opportunities to learn different business lines and was encouraged by the management to explore my own skills which I hesitated to try. I moved to sales in March 2011 which was a big step for me and thanks to company for trusting in me and standing as a pillar of support. I was recommended to various career development programs and coached to develop both personal and professional skills to do my job in a better way. As a mother of three, company always stands with me to have a work-life balance. Company makes me feel I am an integral part of the team and I am always heard which encourages me to work hard and go the extra mile to offer my part in achieving the organizational goals.
What do you like the most about Johnson Controls culture and values?And how do you relate yourself to them?
Johnson Controls culture, there is no words to explain it. Its like a mini world! Everyone is treated equal and included well into the organization.
